Real-Time Tissue Insight

Objective perfusion insights for better surgical decisions

Real-time tissue perfusion monitoring powered by ultrafast Doppler ultrasound. Perfusi shows surgeons whether tissue is receiving the blood it needs, while there is still time to act.

The clinical need

Perfusion determines whether tissue survives

Tissue may look healthy while its blood supply is already compromised.

Even when every technical step of an operation succeeds, inadequate perfusion can still lead to irreversible injury. Today this vital surgical parameter is largely unavailable to surgeons, so decisions are made under uncertainty.

  1. Perfusion deficit goes undetected
  2. Decision comes late or relies on indirect signs
  3. Tissue damage and surgical complications
  4. Reoperation, ICU stay and readmission
  5. Irreversible damage and mortality

One missed perfusion deficit can trigger a cascade of complications and costs.

Blood flow

Doppler and flow meters

Often vessel-specific.

Oxygenation

Regional oximetry

Measures oxygenation, not perfusion.

Tracer passage

ICG fluorescence

Requires dye and provides a time-point view.

Temperature

Thermal imaging

Infers perfusion from surface temperature.

Is the tissue adequately perfused?

Current technologies provide pieces of the answer. Perfusi provides tissue-level insight.
Technology

From raw signal to an actionable surgical insight

A software-based platform built on ultrasound, delivering real-time, objective insight into tissue perfusion at the point of surgery.

Clinical evidence

First-in-human evidence captured dynamic perfusion changes

In first-in-human measurements, Perfusi followed perfusion through baseline, occlusion and release as it happened.

Three microvascular perfusion maps of the same tissue: baseline (1–30 s), occlusion (31–60 s) with markedly reduced flow, and release (61–90 s) with flow restored Hemodynamic time series: relative intensity falls from about 100% to about 40% during occlusion and overshoots to about 160% on release

Baseline 1–30 s · Occlusion 31–60 s · Release 61–90 s. Depth and width in mm.

Where we start

Neurosurgery first. A minute matters.

Brain tissue is highly vulnerable to ischemia. Our first customers are high-acuity neurosurgical centers in the US and Europe.

  • 48%Up to 48% complication rate
  • NowImmediate decision relevance in the operating room
  • DirectDirect access to the surgical field

From neurosurgery, Perfusi extends into general surgery and other perfusion-critical procedures.
